Our 2011 Anglia in Bloom entry was enhanced by the enthusiastic support and involvement of community groups around the town. Thanks to locality budget funding from Councillors Gary Green and Anne Whybrow, we were able to provide funding to enable three groups to complete a project to "spruce up" an area with their community. Cedars Park Residents Association, Stowmarket Victorian Quarters Residents Association and Abbot's Hall Primary School all carried out projects which impressed the judges during their tour of the town. Anglia in Bloom awards will be announced during September.
We are keen to develop the community involvement further and hopefully reach a point where the campaign is "owned" by the community, whilst still being co-ordinated by the Town Council. We are therefore looking for individuals and groups who are interested in getting involved in Anglia in Bloom and improving the town in which they live.
