We own a number of play areas in the town and we are planning to apply for funding to make improvements to them. In order to be successful when applying for funding, we need to be able to show that we've consulted with people to find out their views on the play areas. This is where you can help us.

We are currently focussing on the play area at Glemsford Road (outside Combs Ford Primary School)  and have set up a simple online survey in respect of this. We would be extremely grateful if you could click here and complete a survey. By doing so, you will be increasing our chances of securing the funding needed to make the necessary improvements.

Despite the current tough financial climate that we are in, Stowmarket Town Council has worked hard to safeguard it’s community grants scheme and in December they awarded nearly £6,700 in grants to voluntary and community groups in the town. Sixteen organisations received grants of up to £500 in respect of Stowmarket-based projects following the recent round of funding applications.

Every Thursday and Saturday in the Market Place!

We hold a twice-weekly street market in the market place featuring a wide range of stalls selling quality goods at competitive prices. In the current difficult financial climate, the Stow-market is the place to shop to save a bit of money so why not go along and pick up a bargain or two!

There will be no Farmers Market in January.  The next Farmers Market will take place on Friday 3rd February 2012.

We are currently looking for stalls for the Farmers and Street Markets.

Following a Board meeting held on Thursday 8th December, the Directors of the Cedars Park CIC are delighted to confirm that the planned £1million Community Centre is on track to open before Christmas 2012.

The Cedars Park Community Centre will give a much needed focal point to the community and help foster pride and a sense of belonging.

It will consist of a family focused Social Club, a large function hall, a range of smaller rooms for meetings and group activities plus a full sized football pitch and changing room facilities.

The CIC needs to concentrate on detailed plans for promoting and operating the centre on a day to day basis and needs two or three enthusiastic volunteers to join the Board of Directors and help with this important task.
