The Pickerel Project is a voluntary group seeking to regenerate the River Gipping in Stowmarket and make it nicer for everyone in the town

The Pickerel Project group was set up originally to look at ways of improving the river area in the heart of Stowmarket, close to the Pickerel Bridge. The group prepared a scheme of works for the river banks, between the river bridges in Stowupland Street and Station Road.
The project group feel that there are opportunities to improve the accessibility of other parts of the river corridors in town for the benefit of all.
On the first Sunday of every month a team of people get together to spend a couple of hours helping clear up the river bank.
It's fun, good exercise, a great way to meet new people and excellent for the town and the environment - so why not come along and help? The Group meets at 10am at the Station Road Bridge for a couple of hours.
