StowFest is Stowmarket Town Council's biggest annual event. The free music festival held on the Recreation Ground features some of the best music acts from around East Anglia and covers a range of genres. The likes of Rosalita, FuzzFace, The Ballistics, Mohawk, Songs From The Blue House and The Get Up have graced the StowFest main stage.
Launched in 2007, the event has developed a reputation for supporting young local bands, with a significant chunk of the schedule dedicated to the Amplitude Project. Amplitude hold workshops in the local area that provide young bands with guidance and tuition. As well as having their own stage at both the 2007 and 2008 events, they also had an 80 minute slot on the main stage and a 60 minute slot on the acoustic stage at the 2008 event. The coverage dedicated to Amplitude proves extremely popular with hundreds of friends and family members of the young performers turning out to support them. Amplitude will continue to feature heavily in the 2009 event which has been tentatively scheduled for Sunday June 7th.
