Our Environmental Town Warden, Chrissie Day and our Community Caretaker, Paul Easlea work together to tackle instances of untidiness in Stowmarket. This includes litter, graffitti, dogs muck, fly tipping, overgrown foliage - basically anything untidy!
Their role involves anything from blitzing an area strewn with litter to chasing up landowners to get them to resolve a situation on their land. The Town Council are actually responsible for maintaining only a very small proportion of Stowmarket but that doesn't mean that we can't help to resolve a problem. Chrissie will often spend time investigating certain matters to ensure that whoever is responsible sorts them out.
Mid Suffolk District Council's Street Cleansing Team undertake the majority of the Town's litter picking but Paul is responsible for some areas, the most significant of which is the Recreation Ground.
So, if there's an untidy area that's getting on your nerves in Stowmarket, email Chrissie Day on
